Our goal at Daventry Farms is to ensure that you receive the best quality semen possible. Semen motility and morphology is checked with a Bausch & Lomb microscope and semen concentration is verified with a Quick Check™ Sperm Counter. We prefer to use Universal Next Generation extender with Sporting Chance, which works best with his semen. Semen is shipped in a 72 hour Equitainer. Full paperwork, detailing all statistics and semen/extender ratio, is also included with each shipment to ensure that each Mare Owner has all of the information needed to properly inseminate their mare and ensure a successful conception. As a result, we have a 100% First Cycle Conception Rate to date on fresh shipped semen. We collect Monday through Friday. Pre-arranged Saturday and Sunday collections are available for local pick-up or WestJet flights within Canada only. We would appreciate notification for semen shipment by 3:00 PM MST, the night before collection & shipping is needed. While we do ask for advanced notice on needing semen, we do understand that not all mares read the "in heat handbook" and will do whatever we can if a last minute collection is required. As long as we have been notified of your mare coming into heat, we consider ourselves on call for that week! Our Canadian Mare Owners have the choice of using Fed-Ex overnight service or WestJet same day counter-to-counter service. We ship via Fed-Ex overnight for all USA destinations.
